Sports massage
Sports massage can be very effective for the treatment of a wide range of injuries and is beneficial before and after a sporting event to help clear any toxins or build-up in the muscles, which can impede sports performance. Deep tissue massage helps to break down any adhesions or scar tissue that may exist in the muscle following trauma or injury, and helps to improve the circulation of blood and lymph which speeds up the healing process. Here are a few conditions that can be treated with sports massage therapy:
- Pre and post sporting events
- Neck and shoulder tension
- Shin splints
- Hip pain
- Tight calves
- Runners knee (pain in the outside of the knee)
- Sciatic pain
- Golfers elbow
- Tennis elbow
- Back pain/ tension
- And many more…
Myofascial release
This type of massage focuses on the superficial layers of the muscles and works on releasing the connective muscle fascia that encases all of the muscles of the body. Trigger points, or ‘knots’ can sit in the myofascial layer and create referred pain to other areas of the body. This type of massage can help to encourage more length in the different ‘chains of muscles’ to create a release and a reduction in pain. It can also be very relaxing in comparison to sports massage techniques.
Holistic massage
With the stress of work and life in general we can all benefit from a relaxing massage to help us unwind. Most people feel the tension in their backs, whether that shows as a stiff neck and tight shoulders or an aching lower back, massage can help to restore length and flexibility to tight muscles and create a feeling of calm in the body.
In-house massage
If you work for a company looking for a convenient way to help staff relax and reduce stress in the office we can come to you to provide treatments. We have a comfortable mobile couch and can set up in any suitable room, providing all the necessary equipment. This can be arranged to the convenience of both parties on request. |
